This spring brought the amazing opportunity to host/have a student teacher in 4th grade! The last three years, I have been blessed with amazing woman to learn from, hopefully mentor, and see grow in their love and passion for teaching.
Kayla joined our class right at the beginning of March. She hit the ground running and did fantastic!
It was so fun watching her learn, grow, know the students, gain insight, learn from her creativity, and get to know her as a friend.
The kids responded so well to her constant enthusiasm, never-ending ideas, and engaging personality. So often I thought she was like Mary Poppins as she would come up with amazing strategies and a quick change to a lesson, just as though she had pulled it from her magical bag!
I was beyond impressed with her professionalism, insight, and wisdom as she interacted with students, parents, and other staff.
My favorite part was watching her share her passion for Jesus with the students. Kayla's heart for the Lord and for truth and for seeing others love the Word was so encouraging!
We had talked about the incredible freedom and sweetness of teaching in a Christian school and it was fun to watch her be able to very openly express her ideas and plans through her Biblical integration. Many times it was all I could do not to throw in an "amen" or "you go, girl" during her lessons as her passion would fire up!
It was a sad goodbye to Kayla on her last day 10 days ago.
I told her repeatedly that the Lord sent her at exactly the right time as there were so many things I had planned to get done during her time and how other things came up! (Always in the life of a teacher, right?) The Lord knew how much I would need her help and her spunk to keep going!
Kayla, we love you dearly and are beyond blessed to have shared this unique season of your life.
I pray the Lord's continued guidance and direction over you as you follow Him in what comes next.
You will never know the extent of your impact on the Kingdom through your time here.
You are greatly missed! A big hug from us to you!
