Rehearsal Day!

This was our second family wedding in Dallas, but the differences between being a part of the bride's family is quite different than being a part of the groom's family.

The big thing we had to prepare for was the rehearsal dinner. The consensus was to invite all family in town, wedding party, and others involved to be a part of the rehearsal dinner. So the obvious choice was to have BBQ and Blue Bell with Texas sheet cake. It was such a fun night of laughter, tears, and time with family.

We spent the afternoon making centerpieces.      Love this picture of CB with the twinsters!
CB received much loving this evening! How could you now help but love on her???

Sister and her best friend forever!!!
Hannah and I were Scripture readers. So I had a plan worked out for the rehearsal since i thought we would practice. I had prepared, Deuteronomy 21:10-12 to read as the practice (knowing full well I would be disowned forever if I were to read this during the ceremony). Sadly, we didn't get to practice, so I read it to Mama Lisa instead.
(The passage says, "When you go out to war against your enemies, and the LORD your God gives them into your hand and you take them captive, and you see among the captives a beautiful woman, and you desire to take her to be your wife, and you bring her home to your house, she shall shave her head and pare her nails.")
Look at that beautiful face! She melts my heart

Talking with Bill and Rachel who just had their sweet baby boy!
This is what happened most of the night - baby passing, talking, being with one another. Weddings are so quick and all of our family traveled many hours to be there. It was so nice to have time to talk and be together.

All of us (except Grandma) are named after Grandma!

The new girls hanging out and getting to know each other.
We went over to the Kirkpatricks after the rehearsal dinner to hang out. We kept standing up and that cute baby was on the couch. Mama Lisa kept saying, "Sit down." While she was in the kitchen, we all stood up and were around the baby. We said we were re-enacting the nativity. :)
 We love this baby!

We love these sweet friends! What precious gifts!

One of my favorite things about friendships is when you can go weeks, months, or years without seeing each other and pick right up where you left off! That is a treasure!

Wedding post upcoming!
